As a store owner, you want to create a story that engages and excites customers. Shopify helps you do just that by giving you the tools you need to craft your own story. Find out what Shopify announced at Shopify Editions | Summer ‘22 to help you create your story in our latest article.

Create Your Story with Shopify

This is article 3 of 6 in our series of "How Shopify Helps You..." In case you missed part 2, where we talked about how Shopify helps you convert shoppers, you can read it here.

As a business owner, you know that your story is one of your most powerful tools. It's what captures people's attention and makes them want to learn more about what you do. No one knows your business as you do. And there's no better way to share that unique knowledge and perspective with the world than through a well-crafted brand story. And Shopify helps you create that story, whether you're just starting out or you've been in business for years.

Shopify Editions | Summer '22 showcase brought many exciting announcements from Shopify, new tools that will help you create and tell your story. In this article, we will look at the following:

  • Shopify Hydrogen and Oxygen
  • Tokengated Commerce
  • Online Store: Editor and Theme Updates
  • Metafields
  • Search and Discovery App

If you need assistance with integrating and using all of these tools, reach out to us. We at Fourmeta are Shopify agency in Uk and we have years of experience. We will be happy to work with you to take full advantage of what Shopify has to offer. Now, let's dive deeper into each of these new features!

Shopify Hydrogen and Oxygen

Hydrogen and Oxygen are two of the most essential components of life on Earth. But they're also the key ingredients in the Shopify stack for headless commerce. Hydrogen is a React-based framework that gives you the ability to build fast, headless storefronts. Oxygen is a globally distributed hosting solution that makes it easy to deploy your hydrogen-powered storefronts. Together, they provide everything you need to create performant, headless commerce experiences for your customers.

Ever since Shopify made the Hydrogen announcement, our developers have been elbow-deep in studying the code and all the possibilities of Hydrogen. If you want a more in-depth explanation of what Hydrogen is, and how it can benefit your story, check out our blog article "What Is Shopify Hydrogen? Fourmeta's Guide." We've already got something to show for our efforts. Our developers have created a 3D configurator app that will change the way products are displayed and customized. Take a look at this:

Tokengated Commerce

Tokengated Commerce is a new way for brands to engage with their fans using NFTs. Fans may link their crypto wallets to your store and use their NFTs to gain access to personalized perks like special items, early access to drops, great collaborations with other companies, and even real-world events through Tokengated Commerce.

For brands, Tokengated Commerce provides a new way to reward your most diehard fans with exclusive products and experiences. Fans are always looking for new ways to show their support for their favourite brands and personalities. One way to do this is through branded merch. By partnering with Shopify merchandising partners, you can develop high-quality products that your fans will love. From ideation to fulfilment, Shopify partners can help you bring your vision to life. Beyond token holders, you can also develop merch for other audiences, such as event participants or general fans. By offering branded merchandise, you can create new ways for your fans to engage with your brand. And who knows, you might even inspire some brand loyalty along the way.

NFTs are the hottest new trend in the digital world, and there's no better way to get in on the action than by minting your own NFTs. Mint custom NFTs on popular blockchains like Ethereum, Polygon, and Solana. Then, list and sell them right from your store. Shopify's checkout is the most effective converting checkout on the internet, with 100 million consumers worldwide relying on it to turn their sales, meaning your NFTs have a much higher chance of selling.

Online Store: Editor and Theme Updates

If you're looking to give your online store a fresh, new look, Shopify has released 8 new free themes and 10 new premium themes that are sure to do the trick. These themes are made with conversion in mind and present innovative methods to personalise your online business. With so many options to choose from, you're sure to find the perfect theme for your business. Whether you're looking for a sleek, modern look or something more rustic and unique, Shopify has you covered.

The new preview inspector is a great addition to the theme editor. With it, you can quickly and easily navigate to sections and blocks in your preview window, and make changes right from the preview window. This makes it much easier to find and change settings, and to keep track of your changes. The preview inspector is a great tool for anyone who wants to make their website more user-friendly and more intuitive. By default, the preview inspector is enabled for all free Shopify themes.

Shopify now offers the ability to configure your 3D models directly in your admin, without needing to edit any code. To achieve the ideal look for your store, you can change the lighting, backdrop colour, and exposure level of your model. All of these changes can be made from your Products page, so you can easily experiment with different settings until you find the perfect configuration for your 3D model.

Metafields

Metafields are one of the most powerful features of Shopify. They allow you to create custom fields that work across all aspects of your business, from customers and orders to products and collections. With metafields, you can dynamically showcase your custom information across your storefront. This makes them ideal for displaying information that is constantly changing, such as inventory levels or sale prices. Metafields are also a great way to add extra data to your products, such as product descriptions or reviews. By using metafields, you can easily manage all of your custom information in one place.

Metafield lists are a powerful tool that can help store multiple values in a single metafield. Metafield lists may be used to display related goods, ingredient lists, or more comprehensive storefront filtering. Metafield lists make it easy to manage large amounts of data and can be a great way to keep your store organized.

Search & Discovery App

The search and discovery app is designed to help customers find products they love and increase conversions. The app is customizable, so customers can search for products using various criteria. The app also allows customers to filter their search results to find exactly what they're looking for. The search and discovery app is a great way to help customers find the products they want and to increase your store's conversion rate. Please note that it is currently not live, but you already can sign up to be selected for early access.
